Peychaud's Bitters

This popular cocktail bitters is one of the only pre-prohibition bitters that is still being produced (the other is Angostura). Peychaud’s Aromatic Bitters are used in classic cocktails including the Sazerac and the Old Fashioned cocktail.
The Buffalo Trace Distillery, located in Kentucky, manufacturees Peychaud’s Bitters. Pharmacist Antoine Peychaud originally created Peychaud’s Bitters in 1830.
Old Fashioned Cocktail Recipe
1 oz rye, bourbon or scotch whiskey
1 or 2 dashes of bitters
1 sugar cube
1 dash seltzer
1 cherry, for garnish
Pour all ingredients into glass. Muddle sugar until dissolved. Serve over ice. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel, orange slice or maraschino cherry. Serve in a No. 5 glass with highball spoon.
